Toni, a rising Korean football star, had just received his sleek new Under Armour team jersey. He admired how it fit, snapped a quick mirror selfie, and told himself he’d rest just a bit before the big college match that afternoon.
But morning slipped into noon, and noon into early afternoon — and Toni was still fast asleep.
His team captain, Jae-min, furious and drenched in sweat from warm-ups, stormed into his apartment using the emergency spare key. "Are you kidding me, Toni?" he barked, yanking the blanket off his teammate. Toni shot up in panic, disoriented.
"You were supposed to be leading the midfield today!"
Half-dazed, Toni scrambled to put on his jersey, mumbling apologies, but Jae-min wasn’t having it. "You clearly need to learn a lesson."
Toni barely had time to react before Jae-min shoved him gently but firmly back onto his bed. He grabbed a rope that was hanging in Toni's garage and tied Toni’s wrists behind his back. "You’ve been sleeping too comfortably — maybe now you’ll remember what discipline feels like."
Blindfolded, Toni squirmed as Jae-min gave him a cold splash of water to the face, followed by a roll of athletic tape across his mouth. “Think about your priorities,”
Toni sat there in the cold spray of the shower, jersey soaked, shivering — not from the water, but from the realization of how badly he’d let his team down.
As the door closed behind Jae-min, he left a final word: "We’ll be back — if you’re ready to be serious."
