Lockedhunk, a powerhouse on the basketball court, had just lost the biggest game of his career. His broad shoulders sagged as the scoreboard flashed the final score, the bitter sting of defeat settling in. He’d missed the winning shot, and the championship slipped away.
In the locker room, Coach Reynolds was waiting, his face hard. "You froze out there, Lockedhunk," he said, tossing a thick rope onto the bench. "You let your mind tie you down."
Lockedhunk frowned, confused. “What’s this about?”
Without another word, Coach grabbed the rope and bound Lockedhunk's wrists together, firmly but not painfully. "Feel that?" he asked. "That’s what you did to yourself tonight. You were stronger than every player out there, but you let fear and doubt tie you up."
Lockedhunk pulled at the ropes, his muscles flexing. But no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t break free.
